As I've mentioned (ad nauseum? are you sick of it yet?), I'm really enjoying men's fashion more than women's at the moment.  Menswear is just having this great back-to-basics, focus-on-quality-and-materials moment, and I really dig it.  Here, Brooklyn Tailors, who make custom and ready-to-wear shirting and suits for men (and one shirt for women!). 

Girls, keep your boyfriend/brother/whatever looking classy and get him one for his birthday.  Guys, one of those shirts above, a pair of jeans or khakis, and a pair of sneakers or dessert boots and you're set. 

They've been suiting up men in New York for a while, but now they are also available to those further afield through Etsy.

True Statement >> Save Khaki

I can't resist the awesome styling for the Save Khaki SS'10 lookbook by Unabashedly Prep.  I hope the West Coast boys will catch on soon to the American trad-with-a-twist look being promoted by the likes of Save Khaki, Billy Reid, A Continuous Lean, Brooklyn Circus, The Sartorialist, Michael Bastian, Sid Mashburn, etc etc etc.  

Please someone open a great men's store in LA or SF and get this thing started... Sid, want to open a West Coast branch and literally "save khaki"?  We need it!  We're drowning in a sea of graphic tees over here.

Didn't see this one coming >> The new look of Timberland

Timberland has debuted a new collection that goes in a drastically different direction from what they've come to be associated with in the past decade or so... (ie the chunky standard tan suede men's boot and baby pink suede high-top, high-heeled, thick-soled boots with faux-shearling around the ankle for girls...yikes).

Inspired by New England and Northern England between 1900 and 1945, they've nailed some excellent details like the leather and suede stain colors and grain levels, the skinny laces, the wood and leather soles that look as though they've already spent years walking the docks...

And I'm liking it.  At least the men's collection.  Rolled up jeans with a plaid button-up and one of the pairs below would look just about perfect for gent spending summer in the city.
