Fresh Pulp >> 30 Days

I've decided to extend this "Fresh Pulp" category to new blogs I come across, in addition to magazines, since I come across so many of both that I want to share.

Here, for your enjoyment, 30 Days, which chronicles one person's outfits over 30 days!

I love this concept as an alternate to street style blogs where you just get one shot of a person, or, alternately, one person's blog where you see just their outfits every day.

With this concept, you get to see how people work their wardrobes!  This cute lady works for Tracy Reese.

Here, just a sampling...

PS - I saved this quite a long time ago to share and just got around to doing it, and I just checked back on it and it looks like it hasn't been updated in quite a while... too bad.  Still, what's in there is still interesting to browse.  Hope they'll bring it back online!

Fresh Pulp >> Canal House Cooking

I am loving this concept by Christopher Hersheimer and Melissa Hamilton.  They are producing these books, that are somewhere between a cooking magazine and a cookbook, three times a year -- a Winter/Spring edition, a Summer edition, and a Fall edition.

You can buy them individually, or you can get a subscription for $50/year.  Wouldn't a subscription make a great gift?

As the Kitchn said, reading it is like flipping through a friend's recipe journal, complete with little personal notes.

You can also preview the books at their website, which is where I pulled these images from.  The current issue is Volume III, Winter/Spring.  It opens as a full screen pdf and looks pretty even on a computer!

The Kitchn published their recipe for the Lemon and Sea Salt Focaccia shown above... It looks so good!  Click through below for the recipe...

Fresh Pulp >> Antler Magazine

While I think the name is a mistake (seriously, enough with antlers people, they've had their moment), the new digital Antler Magazine does have some cool photography.

Like Lonny Mag and other publications by Issuu, layout looks like the above and can be viewed in full screen, with pages that appear to actually "turn."  This will be so cool on the iPad!!

Antler Magazine here.

Fresh Pulp >> The Gentlewoman

I read recently that it's like the early '90s all over again, with lots of young unemployed grads starting up independent magazines.  I think it's true, and it's cool!

I like that there are going to be not only fresh perspectives available on newstands (and online), but also fresh cover designs.  Ahhh, what a relief to see an artistic cover not covered in headlines and lots of different colors.

I'll be featuring new ones under this series "Fresh Pulp."

The latest, The Gentlewoman, is from the team behind Fantastic Man, and I am so excited that there is going to be a women's counterpart to one of these new outlets, as I've mentioned before I feel like there is a wealth of interesting new men's style blogs, magazines, and stores far outshining comparable women's options.  (My favorite example being the J. Crew men's store and Liquor Store being far cooler than the women's store.)

And guess who is on the cover of The Gentlewoman?  A CREATIVE DIRECTOR.  Phoebe Philo, CD of Celine.  How about that?
